Linton IT Club 2007

1.   The objective of the club, which is entirely run by volunteers is to introduce very basic computing to adults, particularly those who have not had the opportunity to learn about computers at school, college or work.  The club also tries to help members with computer related problems including new technology such as digital cameras.

2.   The club aims also to help, in an informal and friendly atmosphere, those who have computers of their own, possibly recently acquired, to make a start; or who may have a more specific problem.

3.   The Club  works in close co-operation with the Library Service. Members can use the Club’s computers and also those belonging to the Library Service during Club hours when the Library is closed. These computers have Microsoft Office available, including word processing and spreadsheets and can take floppy disks, CD and USB pen drives, which enable users to save their work for future use. All these machines and one of those in (ii) below, are available for e-mail via a website, such as hotmail and yahoo mail etc.

(ii)               2 x Computers in the main Library room. These also belong to the Library Service and one of them is available for Club use.
